i will always contend that the biggest perk to being a cook is the fact that, for the most part, you can listen to music as loud as you'd like while you work. when it comes to career benefits, i would happily barter paid vacation for this. with california's record heat these past few days, i've been using the oven as little as possible, working in a tank top, and listening to music that makes good company for the breezeless hours. here are some songs to accompany one of the best no-cook meals i know of: a plastic cup spilling with mango spears, a dust of chili powder, and a squeeze of the heaviest lime or mexican limon you can find.
